LeBron James Considers Future After Lakers’ Playoff Exit Timberwolves Advance
LeBron James has revealed he is uncertain about continuing his NBA career next season following the Los Angeles Lakers’ early playoff exit at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 40-year-old, now in his 22nd professional season, couldn’t prevent a 103-96 defeat in Game 5, which sealed a 4-1 series win for the Timberwolves at Crypto.com Arena.
Despite signing a two-year deal with the Lakers in 2024 and aiming for a fifth championship ring, James says he will use the off-season to reflect on his future. “I don’t know,” he said when asked about his plans. “It’s something I’ll sit down and talk through with my family and support group.”
Highlighting his season, James said playing alongside his son, Bronny, was the most memorable experience: “To be able to play with my son – this whole year has been one of the most gratifying journeys I’ve ever been on.”
Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert led his team with 27 points and 24 rebounds, helping them secure their place in the Western Conference semi-finals. “It feels great,” Gobert said. “All the adversity we’ve faced prepared us for this moment.”
Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets stayed alive in their series against the Golden State Warriors with a commanding 131-116 win in Game 5. Fred VanVleet led the Rockets with 26 points, narrowing the series to 3-2. Game 6 is set for Saturday at Chase Center in San Francisco.
